For once not an artwork of mine but a visit to other people's artworks.
My sister L was once again the co-ordinator of the Leopold Primary School Art show and Leaf & Stone were sponsors of the Contemporary Prize this year.
This means that we get to choose a painting, as well as donate a prize to the judges choice winner.
We chose a watercolour of a Rainbow Trout on a Plate, by Louise Price. It conveys the wonderful sheen that these fish have, with the purply/aqua colours and the spots. We like it a lot and now have to do some rearranging of wall space to hang it!
The show was of the usual high standard and there were many other paintings that we liked.
We were pleased that Jill Shalless, who runs Dabble 'n' Daub( in the Wintergarden building where Leaf & Stone is located), won the Prize for Oil Paintings.
