I'm not sure where the last 2 weeks have disappeared to, probably under the rug where I sweep the bits and pieces that blow under the front door!!
What have I been doing?
Monday 31st we went to Melbourne to the Windsor for lunch in honour of Tony's Mum's 80th Birthday - all the family were there but the party girl was out attentioned by her great granddaughter (Yani) who at 2 1/4 makes sure she is at the centre of attention in a well behaved manner of course. Photos will follow when I get some from the rest of the family.
Next day was Melbourne Cup Day - very hot and humid - spent relaxing at Pru's with a lamb roast in the Webber and all the trimmings, including a never ending jug of punch. We put our bets on in the morning and rushed inside to watch each race. Mug Punters!!!
Wednesday night saw us at the Zonta Club racing week dinner at the Geelong Racing Club.
Lots of fun as we did more betting - this time on Zonta girls transformed into horses for the night.
I actually won a prize for my decorated hat! I pinned a gorgeous full blown rose to the band and I think the rose overwhelmed everything else.
Friday Lunchtime I spent with friend Jane, checking out her newly laid turf, then lunching at the ferry terminal in Queenscliff. What a great spot, sitting practically in the water!! Watched Jane's friend's yacht tacking around off the coast and ferries arriving, pilot boats going out and fishing boats as well.
The BREAST group wine Drive finished and we spent a fun evening at Charmaine's putting our labels on and sorting the many boxes into orders. Pizza and red wine helped the work to flow.
Pepper went too and spent the evening trying to work out what Chalar, ( Charmaine's cat) was and trying out all her toys.
Chalar viewed Pepper with complete disdain from the top of the boxes or from her scratching post.
Days off Monday and Tuesday saw me getting some background sheets done for my ABC Artist's Trading Cards - 26 twice are required. Used a new medium for the acrylic paints which gives a pearlescent finish, a lot of fun. I splattered some gold paint over them as well.
Tuesday took Daddy to the Purple Duck, a recently opened cafe on the Queenscliff road near Grubb rd in Wallington. It's always nice to find somewhere new that doesn't cost too much to enjoy.
It's now Saturday and I've been to the Farmer's Market with sister Lou - buying a few yummies with Xmas in mind.
I've finished the cards (see next entry) and we are going to a birthday party tonight for one of the Dragon Boating girls. Maybe we do have a social whirl after all!!
Ah well - Life is for Living!!
