Our friends M and J have been spending the past year (well it seems that long) 4 wheel driving around the less populated parts of Australia ie the red dust areas, plus such civlised places as Broome, Darwin and Alice Springs.
I thought I'd share a message left on the message board of their tour journal. Microwave experiments

Hi Mum & Dad,
Did you know that if you microwave apple pie for 20 minutes it catches fire? Stinks too. Anyway, the microwave still works and the house has lost the 'burnt' smell to it. Oh, your smoke detectors need new batteries too!
Did you need a powered or unpowered campsite in the backyard when you get back? Please confirm your arrival date 48hours ahead or your deposit is not refundable.
He does have a great sense of humour!.
Word is that they arrived home on the 22nd, so presumably all is well.
