Well I did it. I joined the Embroiderer's Guild!
Went to my first meeting on Monday and will get started in earnest in Feb when they start up again.
I plan to go to their Fibre Arts Guidance days and will think about doing the Intermediate Certificate starting with Surface stitches which gives a bit of an overview of the basics, including Design and finishing of items.
Here is my first work - A couple of little Xmas presents for my Osteopath who keeps me moving and who loves hand made things.
Felt, beads and threads. I added a gold hanging thread from the top of each one. I love the graduated thread, it is such fun.
My mother must be pleased if she is looking down right now - she was one of the founding members of the Guild in Geelong. She is probably also very surprised!
