Have done some fine eating lately (so what's new?)
The Ladies lunched at the newly named Loam in the middle of the Bellarine Peninsular out back of Drysdale/Portarlington. Sat on the deck and had the "rustic menu" which was very delicious and ranged through poussin with baked apple to trout or snapper whole. I had the smoked pork chop with creamy coleslaw. Desserts were served in glasses - pannacotta with cherry-plum and honeycomb was fabbo and caramel, shortcake and lavender also went down well.We dined in Melbourne for sister's birthday at the Mecca Bah and enjoyed tasty middle eastern flavours. Overlooking the water at docklands in summer is a great place to be.
Last Sunday completed our feasting with a great meal at Oakdene at Ocean Grove. Have a look at the menu! I had a very tender and tasty steak and the duck entree included smoked duck prosciutto which was served in a glass of smoke! An extravagance but a luscious one.
